MANUAL DEFUELING VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains instructions to remove and install the manual defueling valve.
B. Two manual defueling valves, one at each fueling station, connect the fuel-feed manifold with the outboard pressure fueling receptacle. The removal and installation procedures for the two manual defueling valves is the same only the location is different.
C. Access to the manual defueling valve is through the fueling station door.
D. When persons are in the area of the wing leading edge, safety locks must be installed on all extended leading edge flaps.
E. Make sure that electrical power is removed from the airplane before the manual defueling valve is removed and that power is not put back until the manual defueling valve is installed.

WARNING:_______DO THE PROCEDURE IN AMM 27-81-00/201 TO INSTALL THE LOCKS. THE FLAPS MOVE QUICKLY AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Install locks on all extended leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).
(2)
Remove electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(3)
Open the fueling receptacle access door 521BB or 621BB.

Put the container below the manual defueling valve (1) to catch the fuel leakage.

Remove the bolts (4) and washers (5) (four locations) that attach the manual defueling valve (1) to the front spar.
