R  ____________________________________________________________REPAIR OF MISCELLANEOUS CONDUITS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
 _______1. General

R  This chapter describes the procedures for the repair of miscellaneous
R  conduits related to the degree of damage.
R  The miscellaneous conduits installed on aircraft for wire harness protection
R  are divided into two sub-families and have the codes that follow:

R  - Open (split) conduits:
R  ABS0596,
R  EN6049-005 (ex E0507),
R  EN6049-006,
R  EN6049-007.

R  - Closed conduits:
R  ABS0125,
R  E0559,
R  EN6049-003 (ex E0389),
R  EN6049-004 (ex E0502).

R  The standard procedure is to replace damaged or broken items (harness
R  protection or full protected harness) by new items with the same P/N.

R  B. Repair 3A
R  (Ref. Fig. 004)
R  - Remove the damaged section of the conduit.
R  - Repair the wires if necessary (refer to chapter 20-53-20).
R  - Install a cable tie NSA935401-003 at a distance of 30 mm (1.1811 in.)
R  from the ends of the conduit.
R  - Place a new piece of conduit (same P/N, same size and an applicable
R  length) to cover the old one over 60 mm (2.3622 in.) on either side of
R  the damaged section.
R  - Install cable ties as shown.
R  C. Repair 3B
R  (Ref. Fig. 005)
