R ________________3. Repair Procedure
R A. Procedure
R (Ref. Fig. 005, 006, 007, 008)
R This paragraph gives the general description and conditions of
R application for each repair type.
R (1) Method 2A or 4A - Wrapping with PTFE tape Material No 05-116
R Ref. 20-53-29 for detailled procedure.
R (2) Method 2B or 4B - Heat-Shrink Sleeve Insulating
R (3) Method 2C
R (a) Disconnect the cable end.
R (b) Install the heat-shrink sleeve.
R (c) Install the two solder sleeves.
R (d) Engage the solder sleeve on the cable and the shielding link
R (wire CF 22).
R (e) Turn the solder sleeve when you engage it on the bonding wire so
R that it does not catch the strands.
R (f) Center the solder on the stripped portion of the bonding wire and
R shield.
R (g) Heat the center of the sleeve (do not turn the assembly when you
R do this) until the sleeve shrinks (the solder ring melts and
R flows into the strands of the bonding wire and shield).
R (h) Let cool for a few seconds.
R (i) Do the operation again for the other side from step (d).
R (j) Install the heat-shrink sleeve.
R (k) Shrink the sleeve.
R ____NOTE : PTFE requires a minimum temperature of 327 deg.C (620.60
R deg.F) for the shrinking. At level of the two solder
R sleeves, it is necessary to prevent overheat of the
R solder.

R (4) Method 2D
R (a) Disconnect the cable end.
R (b) Install the heat-shrink sleeve.
R (c) Install the two solder sleeves.
R (d) Install the screened sleeve.
R (e) Turn the solder sleeve when you engage it on the screened sleeve
