C. Wire Stripping (Ref. Fig. 011) If sealing is necessary install the heat-shrinkable sleeve on the wire before stripping. In case of two shrinkable sleeves installed the lengths are :
-
the first shrinkable sleeve has a length of 40 mm (1.5748 in.)
-
the second shrinkable sleeve has a length of 30 mm (1.1811 in.) (Shrinking is made after crimping).
-Select the applicable tool.
-Strip the wire to the length A.
D. Crimping Procedure and Tools
(Ref. Fig. 012)
(1)
Put the stripping wire in the hole of the contact.
(2)
Make sure that you can see the wire conductor through the inspection hole.
(3)
Crimp with tool handles until the safety ratchet releases.
(4)
Remove the crimped contact.
(5)
If sealing is necessary :
(a)
Heat shrink the sleeve.
(b)
If necessary, use several sleeves, wait until the first sleeve is fully cool before shrinking the other sleeves.

(Ref. Fig. 015)
(1)
Wire Stripping
(Ref. Fig. 013, 014, 016)
-Select the applicable tool.
-engage the unstripped wires through the rear of the connector until you can see them at the front.
-strip the wires over the length "A"
(2)
Wire Crimping
(Ref. Fig. 017)
-Engage the stripped end of the wire into the contact barrel placed in the locator.
-Fully close the tool handles until the safety ratchet releases.
(3)
Contact Insertion
(Ref. Fig. 015)
-Pull the wire and crimped contact to the rear until it is partially engaged in the connector insulator.
-Engage DEUTSCH M15515-20-4 tool on contact . Use the PIN side for male contacts and the SOC side for female contacts.
-Pull the wire to make sure that the contact is correctly locked in its housing.
