________________3. Repair Procedure
A. Procedure This paragraph gives the general description and conditions of application for each repair type.
R (1) Method 2A - Wrapping with PTFE tape Material No 05-116 (Ref. Fig. 009) Ref. 20-53-29 for detailled procedure
R (2) Method 2B - Heat-Shrink Sleeve Insulating (Ref. Fig. 009)

(3) Method 2C
R (Ref. Fig. 009)
(a)
Disconnect the cable end.
(b)
Install the heat-shrink sleeve.
(c)
Install the two solder sleeves.
(d)
Engage the solder sleeve on the cable and the shielding link (wire CF 22).
(e)
Turn the solder sleeve when you engage it on the bonding wire so that it does not catch the strands.
(f)
Center the solder on the stripped portion of the bonding wire and shield.
(g)
Heat the center of the sleeve (do not turn the assembly when you do this) until the sleeve shrinks (the solder ring melts and flows into the strands of the bonding wire and shield).
(h)
Let cool for a few seconds.
(i)
Do the operation again for the other side from step (d).
(j)
Install the heat-shrink sleeve.
(k)
Shrink the sleeve.
____
NOTE : PTFE requires a minimum temperature of 327 deg.C (620.60 deg.F) for the shrinking. At level of the two solder sleeves, it is necessary to prevent overheat of the solder.

(4) Method 2D
R (Ref. Fig. 009, 010)
(a)
Disconnect the cable end.
(b)
Install the heat-shrink sleeve.
(c)
Install the two solder sleeves.
(d)
Install the screened sleeve.
(e)
Turn the solder sleeve when you engage it on the screened sleeve so that it does not catch the strands.
(f)
Center the solder on the screened sleeve and shield.
(g)
Heat the center of the sleeve (do not turn the assembly when you do this) until the sleeve shrinks (the solder ring melts and flows into the strands of the screened sleeves and shield).
(h)
Let cool for a few seconds.
(i)
Do the operation again for the other side from step (e).
(j)
Install the heat-shrink sleeve.
(k)
Shrink the sleeve.

(5) Method 2E
R (Ref. Fig. 011)
(a)
Cut the cable and wires.
(b)
Install the heat-shrink sleeve.
(c)
Install the two solder sleeves.
(d)
Install the splice insulation sleeve(s) and if applicable the adapters, on each wire.
(e)
Put one end of the splice in the applicable crimping tool die.
(f)
Hold the splice in the correct position with the positioner.
(g)
Put the stripped end of the wire in the splice barrel.
(h)
Crimp the splice (fully tighten the handle until the ratchet releases).
