R pull-back braid
R (Ref. Fig. 011, 013)
R - Step 1: Clean the area using ASN42202 cleaning product and a little
R brush.
R Cut the external protection (if installed) to 210 mm (8.2677 in.)
R and the overbraid 180 mm (7.0866 in.) from the backshell.
R - Step 2: Fold back the overbraid on the shells, 200 mm (7.8740 in.)
R from the backshell.
R - Step 3: Install the braid ABS1353-005 to replace the removed
R pull-back braid.
R Crimp the braid ABS1353-005 on the half shells ABS0940 with a
R metallic clamping strip E0805-2.
R Protect the cutting edges of the metallic clamping strip adding 5
R layers of self-welding tape ABS5334.
R - Step 4: Install the modification kits through the braid ABS1353-005
R along the internal protection. (Make sure that the first kit is
R installed 150 mm (5.9055 in.) from the backshell and the other kits
R staggered every 25 mm (0.9842 in.)).
R - Step 5: Crimp the metallic clamping strip E0805-2, the bonding
R leads and the braid ABS1353-005 at the rear of the backshell.
R Secure the modification kits with lacing tape NSA8420-7.
R - Step 6: Wrap with self-welding tape ABS5334.
R Protect the cutting edges of the metallic clamping strip doing 5
R turns of the tape over the same position at the rear of the
R backshell.
R - Step 7: Do the same process (step 1 to step 6) for the other side
R of the harness to connect the other end of the modification kit.
R (8) Repair type 2-H - Insulation of the damaged cables
R (Ref. Fig. 014, 015)
R - Step 1: Clean the area using ASN42202 cleaning product and a little
R brush.
R Cut the external protection (if installed), the overbraid and the
R internal protection in the damaged area.
R - Step 2: Install two half shells ABS0940 and fold back the overbraid
R on the shells 30 mm (1.1811 in.) each side of the damaged area.
R Cut the damaged cables and isolate them with shrink sleeves ABS0916
R crushed at the end.
R - Step 3: Wrap with 2 layers of self-welding tape ABS5334 (overlap
R 50% and 30 mm (1.1811 in.) each side of the damaged area).
R - Step 4: Install the split conduit EN6049-008 over the damaged area.
R - Step 5: Crimp the split conduit with metallic clamping strip
R E0805-2 at the center level of the half shells.
R - Step 6: Wrap the damaged area with 2 layers of self-welding tape
R ABS5334 (overlap 50% and 30 mm (1.1811 in.) each side over the
R external protection).

R (9) Repair type 2-J - Modification kit adjonction
R (Ref. Fig. 016, 017)
R - Step 1: Clean the area using ASN42202 cleaning product and a little
R brush.
R Remove the external protection (if installed).
R Pull back the overbraid to a length of 150 mm (5.9055 in.)
R - Step 2: Install the modification kit through the overbraid along
R the internal protection.
R Insert a shrink sleeve NSA937210 on the wire of the modification
R kit, at the passing through level.
R Install the bonding lead outside or inside the overbraid (inside is
R preferable if there is enough space).
R - Step 3: Push the overbraid against the backshell and crimp with a
R metallic clamping strip E0805-2 (the bonding lead must be crimped
R together with the overbraid).
R Install the external protection (if any) on the overbraid.
R Install the lacing tapes NSA8420-7 to secure the modification kit
R on the harnesses (not necessary at the level of the new external
R protection).
R - Step 4: Do the same process (step 1 to step 3) for the other side
