TORQUING PROCEDURE - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
_______1. General
R R R R _______WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT NO AC OR DC POWER SOURCE IS CONNECTED TO THE AIRCRAFT ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS. THERE IS A RISK OF ELECTROCUTION IF THE AC OR DC POWER STAYS CONNECTED.
R This chapter gives the general processes to torque the electrical connections on aircraft.
____NOTE : After the terminal has been torqued, its insulation must be as straight as possible to avoid all contact with any part of the structure or separators. Cable orientation on leaving terminal must be as straight as possible to avoid all contact with any part of the structure or separators and any stress.
________2. Material
The following list is given as an example of the tools and material which can be used. Torque wrench ACRATORK TNS55, TORQUE LEADER, FACOM. Torque screwdriver TORQUE LEADER. Torque identification paint (Material No 07-020).
___________3. Preparation
Before torquing operations, it is recommended to: - Check the quality of the screw: Threads not damaged. - Check the quality of the nut: Do not re-use self-locking nuts. For the other types of nuts, re-using attachment components is possible, pending inspection and authorization, providing the following conditions are met: - The threads and the surfaces in contact are not damaged. - The component protection is not damaged or the surface condition is not impaired. - The original lubrication is restored. - Select the torquing tool compatible with the nut/screw and the torque value (refer to the relevant topic for the item to be torqued). - Check the correct flatness of the lug(s) and the absence of burrs. - Check the correct contact and parallelism of the surfaces of the components to be connected. - Remove the old red identification mark (if painted).

R (Ref. Fig. 001, 002)
R
R - Assemble the connecting items to be torqued (if necessary, install the
R washer).
R - Screw the nut/screw manually.
R - Hold the connecting cable with one hand to prevent damage (stress on
R cable, contact with separator or structure).
R - Apply the torque value on the connection assembly with the applicable
R torquing tool, in one continuous operation and until the torquing tool is
