Each time a wire or other electrical item is added, repaired, disconnected/reconnected, before you do the close-up: - Do an inspection/check of the electrical items - Do an integrity test of the related system(s) if applicable ( Ref AMM 05-51-43 P.Block 501). If there is no integrity test, do an operationnal or functionnal test of the related function(s).

R R R R R R R R A. A connector was disconnect and at least one wire was reworkd, added, disconnected or reconnected: - Do a continuity test of the reworked or added wire before you connect the connector - Do a functional or operational test of the related system after connection
R R R R B. A connector was disconnected without wiring disconnection/rework: - Do a visual check of the connector locking - Do a functional test of at least one wire that goes through this connector (e.g. make sure that a pump or lamp operates when controlled)

VISUAL CHECKS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General
This chapter gives the general inspection rules applicable to the different electrical installation components.
_________2. Procedure
A. Do a visual check of these components.
(1)
Wire harnesses
Do a check for:
-contact between the bundles or between the bundles and the structure,
-loose bundles,
-damaged cables,
-missing cable ties and tapes,
-worn or broken cable protection sheaths,
-movement of the sheath end on the support component,
-missing or damaged grommets.
(2)
Connectors
Do a check for:
-corrosion on shells,
-damaged grommets,
-incorrect retention of the cables at the backshells (broken tail),
-cushion missing on backshell,
-cable tie missing on backshell,
