R  ____NOTE : If you cannot apply the torque in one continuous operation (limited 
R  travel or access), do the last torquing operation with a sufficiently 
R  large movement (with a rotation of 30 degrees minimum). 
R  - Turn the torquing tool slowly to avoid excessive torquing after the 
R  torquing tool is released. Particular care must be taken when automatic or 
R  semi-automatic torquing tools are used. 
R  Remove the torquing tool immediately when the torque value is applied. 
R 
R  - In specific cases only, check that the connecting items are correctly 
R  locked by re-torquing to the correct value. 
R  - In general cases, ckeck that the connecting items are correctly locked by 
R  lightly pulling them. 
R  - Make sure that there is at least one and half threads of the threaded pin 
R  visible above the nut. 
R  - Make sure that the terminals are parallel and the position of the 
R  assembled components has not changed. 
R 
R  - Except at circuit breakers, all electrical connections attached with 
R  screws and electrical cables with a cross-section equal to or greater than 
R  5 mm2 (cable sizes 10, 8, 6 etc...) must be identified with red varnish.

VISUAL CHECKS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General
 This chapter gives the general inspection rules applicable to the different electrical installation components.
 _________2. Procedure
 A. Do a visual check of these components.

 Wire harnesses
 Do a check for:

 -contact between the bundles or between the bundles and the structure,
 -loose bundles,
 -damaged cables,
 -missing cable ties and tapes,
 -worn or broken cable protection sheaths,
 -movement of the sheath end on the support component,
 -missing or damaged grommets.

 Connectors
 Do a check for:

 

 -corrosion on shells,
 -damaged grommets,
 -incorrect retention of the cables at the backshells (broken tail),
 -cushion missing on backshell,
