Extraction of the contact from the front.
C. Wire Stripping
(Ref. Fig. 002)
(1)
Slide the heat shrink sleeve (7) on the cable.
(2)
Slide the crimp ferrule (1) on the cable.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT CUT THE BRAIDED SHIELD (4) OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CENTER CONDUCTOR WHEN YOU STRIP THE CABLE.
(3)
Strip the cable to the length A.
(4)
Strip the inner conductor to the length B.
R (5) Cut the braided shield to the length C.

D. Crimping Procedure and Tools
(Ref. Fig. 002)
(1)
Expand the braided shield (4).
(2)
Slide the insert (5) onto the inner conductor (2) and install the insert (5) in the rear of the contact body (3) (if applicable).
(3)
Insert the stripped inner conductor (2) in the rear of the contact body (3). Make sure you can see the stripped inner conductor (2) through the locating hole (6).
(4)
Push the crimp ferrule (1) forward over the braided shield (4) against the contact body (3).
(5)
Crimp the ferrule (1) with the applicable crimping tool. Make sure that the cable, contact (3) and crimping ferrule (1) remain correctly positioned during the crimping process.
____
NOTE : The crimp ferrule of these contacts extends beyond the connector insulator by approximately 8 mm (0.3149 in.). It must therefore be protected by a heat-shrink sleeve to avoid short-circuit.
(6) Slide the sleeve (7) over the crimped part and shrink it.
(7) Use a centering ring for the installation of the male contact in the R connector grommet.

(1)
Strip the wire to the length A.
(2)
Insert the stripped wire in the cavity of the contact.
(3)
Make sure that you can see the wire conductor through the inspection hole. Note : The gap must be B between the cavity end of the contact and the contact core.
(4)
Crimp the contact core with the appropriate tool.

B. Contact Insertion / Extraction Tools
(No tool is necessary)
(1)
Insertion
(a)
Move the extraction bush to the rear of the contact.
(b)
Manually engage the contact into the connector cavity until you hear a click. (The clip lips are locked behind the shoulder when the contact is fully engaged).
(2)
Extraction
R (a) Push the contact extraction bush into the cavity until the R shoulder touches the rear of the insulation.
This causes the clip lips to disengage.
(b) Pull the contact to the rear to remove it.
C. Wire Stripping
(Ref. Fig. 006)
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT CUT THE BRAIDED SHIELD (2) OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CENTER CONDUCTOR WHEN YOU STRIP THE CABLE.
(1)
Slide the external ferrule (1) on the cable.
