(1)
Lightly rub the retainer area (41) which contains the seal (40) with a scotch brite.
(2)
Clean the surfaces and remove the grease with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) and a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003).
(3)
Lightly rub the seal surfaces which touch the retainer (41).

Apply BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-018) on the surfaces of the seal (40).
(5)
Let BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-018) become almost dry.
Subtask 56-12-11-420-055
B. Installation of the Seal
(Ref. Fig. 421/TASK 56-12-11-991-020)
(1)
Put the seal (40) in position.
(2)
Put a strong force on the seal (40) for 30 minutes.
(3)
Make sure that there is no remaining adhesive compound on the retainer.
(4)
Make sure that the external lip of the seal (40) moves freely around the retainer (41).

C. Sealing Check
(1)
Close the sliding window
(2)
Apply water to the periphery of the sliding window from the outside of the aircraft
(3)
Wait ten minutes and make sure that there is no water leakage at level of the window frame.
(4)
If water goes into the cockpit, make sure that the adjustments are correct and that the seal is in the correct condition.
(5)
Dry if necessary.
