A. Repair of the Windshield Weather Seal
(Ref. Fig. 801/TASK 56-11-11-991-013)
(1)
Examine the seal for erosion, cracking and adhesion to the glass surface. With a plastic scraper, remove all the loose, cracked or perished sealant.
(2)
Clean with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) and a lint-free cloth.
(3)
Apply adhesive tape to the periphery of the glass pane.
(4)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-045) on the windshield weather seal to get the dimensions given in the figure:
(a)
For the PPG windshield, except for PPG windshield with a stainless steel Z section (P/N NP-165311-1 to P/N NP-165311-4 amendment B) use the SPATULA - WEATHER SEAL (98D56103003204).
(b)
For the PPG windshield with a stainless steel Z section (P/N NP-165311-3 amendement C to P/N NP-165311-4 amendment C) use the SPATULA - WEATHER SEAL (98D56103003206).
(c)
For the PPG windshield with a stainless steel Z section (P/N NP-165311-5 to P/N NP-165311-6) use the SPATULA - WEATHER SEAL (98D56103003206).
(d)
For the SPS windshield, except for the SPS windshield with a stainless steel Z section (P/N STA320-1-3 to P/N STA320-2-6) use the SPATULA - WEATHER SEAL (98D56103003200).
(e)
For the SPS windshield with a stainless steel Z section (P/N STA320-1-7 to P/N STA320-2-7) use the SPATULA - WEATHER SEAL (98D56103003202).
(f)
For the PILKINGTON windshield with a stainless steel Z section (P/N 06282 to P/N 06283) use the SPATULA - WEATHER SEAL (98D56103003208).
