 4. Procedure

 A. Preparation for Installation
 (1)
 Examine the window panes and make sure that they are not damaged.

 (2)
 Clean the inner pane (8), the rubber seal (7) and the outer pane (6) with clean, warm water.

 (3)
 Do a check and make sure that all abrasive particles are removed from the components.

 (4)
 Repeat the procedure again with a weak solution of soap and water. Use a clean sponge or chamois leather.

 (5)
 Remove the soap solution with clean, warm water.

 (6)
 Dry the components with a moist chamois leather.

 (7)
 If stains or dirty marks remain, you must remove them with plastic cleaner SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-010) and a clean, lint-free cloth.

 WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.

 Remove the plastic cleaner with clean water.

 (9)
 Apply anti-static treatment to the window panes:

 (a)
 Mix 7-parts plastic cleaner SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-010) with 60-parts water.

 (b)
 Apply the plastic cleaner solution to the window panes.

 (c)
 Let the window panes dry.

 (d) Do a check and make sure that the window panes are dry and polish them with a clean, lint free cloth.
 NOTE : You must wear cotton gloves when you touch the window
____ panes, components and assemblies.

 Install the inner pane (8) in the rubber seal (7).

 (11)
 Install the outer pane (6) in the rubber seal (7).

 (12)
 Make sure that the window frame (5) is clean and that there are no dents, damaged paintwork or corrosion.

 (13) Make sure that the retainer (3) is in the correct condition. Subtask 56-31-15-420-050
 B. Install the window
 (1)
 Put the window assembly (4) in the window frame (5).

 (2)
 Make sure that the vent hole (9), through the inner pane (8), is at the bottom of the door window assembly.

 (3)
 Put the retainer (3) in position and install the retainer attach screws (1) and the washers (2).

 NOTE : Do not damage the protective surfaces of the retainer.

 TORQUE the retainer attach screws (1) to between 0.3 and 0.4 m.daN

 (26.54 and 35.39 lbf.in).

 (5)
 Clean the outer surface of the outer pane (6) (Ref. TASK 56-21-13-100-002) .

 Clean the inboard surface of the inner pane (8) (Ref. TASK 12-21-12-100-001).

 A. Close Access
 (1)
 Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.

 (2)
 Install the door lining panels (Ref. TASK 25-23-47-400-004) or (Ref. TASK 25-23-47-400-009) or (Ref. TASK 25-23-47-400-010).

 (3)
 Close the emergency exit door (Ref. TASK 52-22-00-410-001) or (Ref. TASK 52-22-00-410-002).

 (4)
 Remove the access platform(s).

 (5)
 Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
