A. Inspection of the Fixed Windows
(1) Inspection of the acrylic fixed windows (LUCAS/ACT supplier, P/N NH...)
NOTE : "Impaired": in inspection tables the word "impaired" refers to
____ visibility. Visibility is "impaired" when defects have an effect on visibility. If visibility is "impaired", you must replace the window panel.
(a) Make an inspection of the acrylic fixed window for :

Do a check for burn spots. (Ref. Fig. 616/TASK 56-11-12-991-043)

Do a check for crazing (Ref. Fig. 617/TASK 56-11-12-991-044)
1_ Put a light source at 45 deg. to the outer surface of the
window panel.
2_ Do a check of the bus bar for burn spots.
1 Get a metal scale 150 mm (5.9 in.) long.
_
2 Put the metal scale perpendicular to the surface of the
_ sliding window panel where the crazing is the deepest.
3 Look at the scale reflection with an angle of vision of 45
_ deg. to find the apparent depth of the crazing damage.
4 The correct depth is approximately two times the apparent
_ depth.
5 Where crazing is relatively shallow, a hand-held magnifying
_ glass is useful as an optical aid.
(2) Inspection of the glass fixed windows (PPG supplier, P/N NP... and SPS supplier, P/N SPS...)
NOTE : "Impaired": in inspection tables the word "impaired" refers to

(a) Make an inspection of the glass fixed window for:
1_ Cracks
