R A. Removal of the Components
R (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 56-11-11-991-001)
R (1) Release the four stud assy (3).
R (2) Loosen the fastener (5) and remove the lining panel 211LW (4) which
R prevents damage to the sensors.
R (3) Remove the screws (2) and the washers (6).
R (4) Remove the vertical lining panel 211MW (1).

R B. Removal of the Windshield Retainers
R (Ref. Fig. 402/TASK 56-11-11-991-002)
R NOTE : If you find fasteners that you cannot remove easily, do the____
R procedure with the fastener removal tool in para (2).
R (1) Removal of the retainers:
R (a) Disconnect the sensor (15).
R (b) Remove and discard the cable ties (42) that attach the electrical
R cable (41) against the draining pipe (44).
R (c) Disconnect the electrical connector (43).
R (d) Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
R (e) Remove the sealant from the screw heads.
R (f) Remove the screws (20), (21) and (22).
R (g) Remove the protection plate (19).
R (h) Remove the spray nozzles (Ref. TASK 30-45-44-000-001).
R (i) Remove the nut (16), the washer (17) and the icing indicator
R (26).
R (j) Remove the nuts (11), the washers (10) and the screws (24) and
R (32).
R NOTE : The screws (24) and (32) have different lengths.____
R Mark the position of these screws so that you install them
R at their correct position.
R (k) Remove the screws (27) and (23) and the washers (25) and (30).
R (l) Remove the front retainer (18).
R (m) Remove the screws (13) and the washers (28).
R (n) Remove the upper and lower retainers (12) and (31).
R (2) Remove the fastener that you cannot remove easily
R (Ref. Fig. 403/TASK 56-11-11-991-022)
R (a) Install the FASTENER REMOVAL TOOL (98A53003500000) for the
R fasteners you must remove:
R 1_ Install the spacer (30) on the captive nut (37) of a removed
R fastener.
R 2_ Install the slider on the spacer (30).
R 3_ Install the crossbeam (34) on the slider (33).
R 4_ Install the pin (32).
R 5_ Align the spindle (35) with the fastener (36) you must remove.
R 6_ Tighten the pad screw (31).
R (b) Remove the related fastener (36).
R (c) Remove the FASTENER REMOVAL TOOL (98A53003500000).

R C. Removal of the Windshield Panel

R WARNING : BE CAREFUL DURING THE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION OF THE WINDSHIELD TO_______
R PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE.
R MAKE SURE THAT:
R -THERE ARE SUFFICIENT PERSONS FOR THE TASK.
R -YOU DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SEAL OR THE GLASS PLIES.
R THE WINDSHIELD IS HEAVY.
R CAUTION : DO NOT USE A SUCTION CUP TO HOLD THE INNER SURFACE OF THE_______
R WINDSHIELD PANEL IF THE PANEL HAS A SOFT (SELF HEALING) LINER
R (SUPPLIER SPS).THE SUCTION CUP WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SOFT
R LINER.
R -DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE SOFT LINER.
R THE SOFT LINER IS A PART OF THE WINDSHIELD PANEL.
R CAUTION : DO NOT USE SHARP AND/OR METALLIC TOOLS OR OBJECTS TO_______
