R REMOVE/INSTALL THE WINDSHIELD. DO NOT USE A LEVER AGAINST THE
R EDGE OF THE WINDSHIELD BECAUSE IF YOU DO, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE
R TO THE WINDSHIELD.
R (1) Use vacuum handles (55) to put the windshield panel (14) in position
R in its housing.
R NOTE : Two persons are necessary to install the windshield panel:____
R - One person out of the aircraft to hold the windshield panel,
R - A second person in the aircraft with one arm through the
R sliding window and one hand on the inner face of the
R windshield panel to put it in the lateral frame.
R (2) Install the adjustment tools (50) and (54) on the upper part of the
R windshield with the pins (52).
R (3) Operate the suction cups of the adjustment tools (50) and (54) to
R hold the windshield panel with the tool.
R (4) Put the windshield panel in position with the knurled screws (51) and
R the knurled nut (53).
R (5) When the windshield panel is correctly adjusted, remove the R/I FRONT
R WINDOW TOOL (98F56103000000).

R B. Sealant Application
R (Ref. Fig. 405/TASK 56-11-11-991-015)
R (1) Apply a bead of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) or SEALANTS (Material
R No. 09-053) at the intersection area between:
R - the frame structure and the lower retainer,
R - the frame structure and the upper retainer,
R - the front retainer and the upper and lower retainers.
R NOTE : If you use PR1436GB-ND1/2 at 23deg.C, the application time is____
R 1/2 hour and the cure time is 24 hours. If you use
R PR1436GB2-NA at 23deg.C, the application time is 2 hours and
R the cure time is 30 hours. If you use PR1436GB4-NA at 23deg.C,
R the application time is 4 hours and the cure time is 40 hours.
R If you use DAPCO 72 at 23deg.C, the application time is 1/4
R hour and the cure time is 2 1/2 hours.
R (2) If the sealant cure time is not sufficient before aircraft take-off,
R do the procedure below:
R CAUTION : BEFORE YOU APPLY THE TAPE, MAKE SURE THAT THE SEALANT IS_______
R NOT TACKY. IF IT IS TACKY, THE TAPE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE
R SEALANT.
R CAUTION : WHEN YOU APPLY THE TAPE, MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO_______
R BUBBLES. THIS WILL HELP TO PREVENT THE REMOVAL OF THE TAPE
R DURING FLIGHT.
R (a) Put a strip of BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-
R 052) on the intersection areas.
R NOTE : If you use PR1436GB-ND1/2 at 23deg.C, the sealant is not____
R tacky after 10 hours. If you use PR1436GB2-NA at 23deg.C,
R the sealant is not tacky after 16 hours. If you use
R PR1436GB4-NA at 23deg.C, the sealant is not tacky after 28
R hours. If you use DAPCO 72 at 23deg.C, the sealant is not
R tacky after 40 minutes.
R (b) Do a visual check of the intersection areas between each flight.
R (c) Remove BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-052) after
R the sealant cure time.
R NOTE : During the flight, temperatures are under 10deg.C and the____
R sealants do not dry. The sealant cure times given above do
R not include the flight hours.

R C. Installation of the Lower Retainer
R (Ref. Fig. 402/TASK 56-11-11-991-002, 406/TASK 56-11-11-991-016)
R (1) Put the lower retainer (12) in position and install two wooden shims
R between the lower retainer (12) and the windshield (14).
R (2) With a non metallic lever, lift the lower retainer (12) and install
R two wooden shims between the lower retainer (12) and the aircraft
R structure.
R (3) Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) below the head of the
R five hex head bolts (13).
R (4) Install the five washers (28), the five hex head bolts (13) and
R lightly tighten them.
