4. Procedure

A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
Apply COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-011) to the bolts (5),(16) and the bushes (6),(7),(17) and (18).

B. Installation of the Connection Rod (11)
(1)
Install the adjustment gage between the forward lever (15) and the stop fitting of the beam 2.
(2)
Engage the connection rod (11) on the forward lever (15) as follows:
(a)
Put the connection rod (11) and the bushes (17),(18) on the forward lever (15).
(b)
Install the bolt (16), the washers (14) and the nut (13).
(c)
TORQUE the nut (13) to between 0.30 and 0.35 m.daN (26.54 and
30.97 lbf.in).
(d)
Safety the nut (13) with a new cotter pin (12).
(3)
Tighten the clamping screw (34) and then loosen it two turns to set the tension of the torsion spring (53).
NOTE : Do not safety the clamping screw (34) at this stage with
____
lockwire.

Open the Bulk door carefully (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-008).
(5)
Engage the connection rod (11) on the fuselage fitting (4) as follows:
(a)
Put the connection rod (11) and the bushes (6),(7) on the fuselage fitting (4).
(b)
If the attachment holes do not align, adjust the length of the connection rod (11) as follows:
(c)
Install the bolt (5), the washers (3) and the nut (2).
(d)
TORQUE the nut (2) to between 0.30 and 0.35 m.daN (26.54 and
30.97 lbf.in).
(e)
Safety the nut (2) with a new cotter pin (1).
(6)
Carefully close the Bulk door (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-008).
(7)
Remove the adjustment gage from the structure of the Bulk door.
1_ Cut and remove the lockwire from the jam nuts (8), the safety
ring (9) and the turnbuckle (10).
2_ Loosen the jam nuts (8) and turn the turnbuckle (10) until the
attachment holes align.
NOTE : Make sure that the eye-end and the threaded end of the____
connection rod (11) are correctly installed in the
turnbuckle (10).
3_ Tighten the jam nuts (8) to safety the turnbuckle (10).
4_ Safety the turnbuckle (10) and the jam nuts (9) with lockwire,
corrosion-resistance steel, dia 0.63 mm on the safety ring.
