A. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform in postion below the Bulk cargo compartment door (referred to as BUlk door.
(2)
Attach a warning note on the Bulk door to tell persons that the door balance mechanism is inoperative.

4. Procedure

A. Operation of the Bulk Door with an inoperative Balance Mechanism
(1) Open the Bulk door as follows:
(a) If you will open the Bulk cargo door from the outer side, push the button of the external door handle.
NOTE : This causes the external door handle releases from its
____
recess.
(b)
Move the internal or external door handle to the OPEN position.
(c)
Push the Bulk door inboard and put the door handle to the LOCKED position.
NOTE : If you used the external door handle, push it into its
____
recess again.
(d)
Move the Bulk door manually inboards until the hook engages with the hook arrester of the fuselage crossbeam.
(e)
Safety the Bulk door additionally with arope or strap on the hook arrester of the fuselage.
NOTE : This prevents that the Bulk door falls down when you
____ release the hook during the closing procedure.
(2) Close the Bulk door as follows:
(a)
Push the button of the external door handle to release it from its recess.
(b)
Move the external door handle to the OPEN position and hold the Bulk door to prevent that it falls down.
(c)
If you will close the Bulk door from the inner side, continuesas follows:
1 Move the Bulk door slowly down until the hook is free from the

hook arrester.
2 Move the external door handle to the LOCKED position and push
_
it into its recess.

position.
(d)
Move the Bulk door down into the door opening and put the applicable door handle into the LOCKED position.
(e)
If you closes the Bulk door from the outer side, push the external door handle into its recess.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1)
Remove the access platform(s).
(2)
Make an entry in the aircraft technical log that the balance mechanism of the Bulk door is deactivated.
