A. Get Access
(1)
Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-001) to get access to the inner side of the closed Bulk door.
(2)
Put the access platform (2.10 m (6 ft. 11 in.)) in position for the AFT cargo-compartment door.
(3)
Put the access platform (2.30 m (7 ft. 7 in.)) in position for the Bulk door.
(4)
Remove the divider net between the AFT/Bulk cargo compartment at FR59.

Remove the door net from the opening of the Bulk door.
(6)
Remove the protection lining and insulation packs (Ref. TASK 52-33-13-000-001) to get access to the components of the balance mechanism.

A. Adjustment of the Balance Mechanism
(1) Release the pre-tension of the balance mechanism as follows:
(a) Install the adjustment gage between the forward lever (52) and the stop fitting (53) of the Bulk door structure.
NOTE : The thickness of the adjustment gage must be between 17.7
____ mm (0.6968 in.) and 18.3 mm (0.7204 in.).
(b)
Open the Bulk door carefully (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
(c)
Disconnect the connection rod (50) from the fuselage fitting (44) as follows:
