4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Avionics-Compartment Lateral-Left Door
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 52-41-12-991-001)
(1)
Install the bushes (6), (8) and (5).
(2)
Put the door (1) in position opposite the hinges.
(3)
Install the pins (7).
(4)
Install the washer (9) and the nuts (3). Tighten the nuts.
(5)
Install the new cotter pins (4).
(6) Connect the bonding leads (2). Subtask 52-41-12-220-051
B. Check and Adjustment of the Out-of-flush Clearance Between the Door (11) and the Fuselage (Ref. Fig. 402/TASK 52-41-12-991-003)
(1)
Keep the door against the stop and measure the out-of-flush clearance J1 between the door (11) and the fuselage. The clearance J1 must be 0 -0.8 +0.8 mm (0.0000 -0.0314 +0.0314 in.).
(2)
If the out-of-flush clearance J1 is not in the tolerances:
(a)
Open the access door (11).
(b)
Remove the two self-locking nuts (12), the two screws (13) and the washers (14).
(c)
Put a new set of washers (14) and install the two screws (13) and the two self-locking nuts (12).
(d)
Close the door and make sure that the clearance J2 is 0.2 mm (0.0078 in.) minimum.
(e)
TORQUE the two self-locking nuts (12) to between 0.35 and 0.45 daN (0.78 and 1.01 lbf).
(f)
Close the door (11).

C. Check of the Load on the Locking Handle
(1)
Close the door
(2)
Measure the load on the door handle with a dynamometer and make sure that the load is to between 8 and 15 daN (17.98 and 33.72 lbf).

(1) Do an operational test of the door warning system (Ref. TASK 52-71-00-710-001).

B. Close Access
(1)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(2)
Close the door 812.
(3)
Remove the access platform(s).
