A. Removal of the PMG and Cooling Fan Assembly.
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 49-52-53-991-003)
CAUTION : YOU MUST USE TWO WRENCHES AND HOLD THE COMPONENT WHEN YOU
_______ REMOVE/INSTALL THE PIPE COUPLINGS AND/OR UNIONS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT.
(1)
Removal of the PMG and Cooling Fan Assembly (Compartment Cooling Valve Installed - On Apu's with the Mod 6 Dot on the Modification Plate intact).
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector P28 (8) from the cooling fan (12).
(b)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(c)
Disconnect the tube (11) from the cooling valve (3).
(d)
Disconnect the clamp (4) from the cooling valve duct (5).
(e)
Remove the two bolts (9) and remove the cooling valve (3).
(f)
Disconnect the clamps (2) and (10) and remove the fan inlet duct (1).
(g)
Disconnect the clamp (7) from the fan outlet duct (6).
(h)
Disconnect the clamp (15) and remove the cooling fan (12).
(i)
Remove the packings (13) and (14).
(j)
Discard the packing (13).
(k)
Discard the packing (14).
(l)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
(2)
Removal of the PMG and Cooling Fan Assembly (Compartment Cooling Valve not Installed - On Apu's with the Mod 6 Dot scored out on the Modification Plate).
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector P28 (8) from the cooling fan (12). Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(b)
Disconnect the clamp (4) from the cooling valve duct (5).
(c)
Remove the two bolts (9) and remove the cooling duct (3).
(d)
Disconnect the clamps (2) and (10) and remove the fan inlet duct (1).
(e)
Disconnect the clamp (7) from the fan outlet duct (6).
(f)
Disconnect the clamp (15) and remove the cooling fan (12).
(g)
Remove and discard the packings (13) and (14).
(h)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
