On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.

Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4)
Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5)
Make sure that the access platform is in position below the APU compartment.
(6)
Make sure that the APU access doors are open (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(7)
Make sure that the LIGHT control switch 11LJ is set to the on position.

A. Installation CAUTION : DO NOT TORQUE THE V-CLAMP(S) TO MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED VALUE.

YOU CAN DAMAGE THE FLANGE SURFACES IF YOU DO.
(1)
If it is required to install a new sleeve:
(a)
Remove the band clamp (3), move the sleeve (2) from the duct (4).
(b)
Move the new sleeve (2) onto the duct (4) and safety it with the band clamp (3).
(c)
TORQUE the band clamp (3) to between 15 and 21 lbf.in (0.16 and
0.23 m.daN).
(2)
Remove the protective covers from the exhaust duct and the bleed control valve (BCV).
(3)
Lubricate the new packing (7) with COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012).
(4)
Install the packing (7) on the air by-pass duct (4).
(5)
Position the air by-pass duct (4) between the BCV and the exhaust duct.
(6)
Safety the duct (4) with the V-band clamp (8) to the BCV, and with the band clamp (1) to the exhaust duct.
(7)
TORQUE the V-band clamp (8) to 40 lbf.in (0.45 m.daN).
(8)
TORQUE the band clamp (1) to between 15 and 21 lbf.in (0.16 and 0.23 m.daN).
(9)
Safety the tube clip to the duct (4) bracket with the bolt (5).
(10)
TORQUE the bolt (5) to 40 lbf.in (0.45 m.daN). Subtask 49-51-42-865-060
B.
Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1KD, 2KD

C. Test
(1) Do the operational test of the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-710-008).
(a) Operate the APU for min. five minutes and examine the joints of the air by-pass duct for leaks (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-790-005).

(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.

Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.

Remove the access platform(s).
(5)
