(3) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE identifiers:
(a) P6, Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6C6, FIRE SW UNLOCK
2) 6H1, FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 1&3 B
3) 6H2, FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 1&3 A
4) 6H3, FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 2&4 B
5) 6H4, FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 2&4 A
6) 6H5, FIRE EXTINGUISHER APU
7) 6H6, FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOWER CARGO
D. Operational Test using FIRE/OVHT TEST Switch

(1) Push and hold the FIRE/OVHT test switch on the miscellaneous switching panel (P5).
NOTE: Hold the switch (approximately 7 seconds) until the EICAS
____ message, FIRE/TEST/FAIL or TEST PASSED, shows. If the switch is released before the EICAS message, TEST PASSED or FIRE TEST FAIL, shows, then the test is not complete.

(2) Make sure that:
(a) The EICAS message, TEST IN PROGRESS, shows during the test. Make sure the EICAS message, TEST PASSED, shows when the test is complete.
NOTE: The EICAS message, FIRE TEST FAIL, may show as a
____ result of open circuit breakers or a fault of the related fire/overheat system.
(b)
The EICAS message, FIRE APU, does not show.
(c)
The master warning light, on the light shield panel (P72), comes on.

The fire bell sounds on the flight deck speaker.
(e)
The red fire light on the M869 APU shutdown module, in the right main landing gear wheel well, comes on.
(f)
The aural APU fire warning, in the right main landing gear wheel well on the APU shutdown module (M869), sounds.
(g)
The red light on the APU fire switch handle, on the pilot's overhead panel (P5), comes on.

Push the master warning switch-light.

Make sure that:
(a)
The master warning light goes out.
(b)
The master warning bell in the flight deck stops.

(5) Release the FIRE/OVHT test switch.
(a)
Make sure the red lights go off.

Make sure the fire bell stops.

After the switch is released for approximately twenty seconds, make sure the EICAS (status) messages for the APU fire detection system does not show.
