(3) Push and hold the FIRE/OVHT test switch.
NOTE: During the test, do not release the test switch until one of
____ the EICAS messages, FIRE TEST FAIL or TEST PASSED, is shown. If you release the test switch before one of the EICAS messages is shown, the test is not complete and you must wait five seconds and then do the test again. If you do not wait five seconds before you push the switch again, it may cause erroneous CMC messages. To erase the CMC messages, do the test again.

WARNING:_______ DO NOT PULL OR TURN THE ENGINE AND APU FIRE CONTROL HANDLES,
AND DO NOT PUSH THE CARGO DISCHARGE SWITCH ON THE FIRE CONTROL
MODULE. THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLES WILL DISCHARGE AND CAN
CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Do a check of the conditions that follow:
(a) The EICAS message, TEST IN PROGRESS, is shown during the test. Observe that the EICAS message, TEST PASSED, is shown when the test is complete.
NOTE: The EICAS message, FIRE TEST FAIL, can show because
____ circuit breakers are open or because there is a failure on a related fire/overheat system.
(b) Make sure these EICAS messages do not show:
1) BLD DUCT LEAK L
2) BLD DUCT LEAK R
3) BLD DUCT LEAK C
4) FIRE APU
5) FIRE CARGO AFT
6) FIRE CARGO FWD
7) FIRE ENG 1
8) FIRE ENG 2
9) FIRE ENG 3
10) FIRE ENG 4
11) COMBIS AND FREIGHTERS ONLY;
FIRE MAIN DECK
FIRE MN DK AFT
FIRE MN DK FWD
FIRE MN DK MID
12) FIRE WHEEL WELL
13) OVHT ENG 1 NAC
(c) Make sure the lights on the engine 1, 2, 3, and 4 fuel control switches S1863, S1864, S1865, and S1866 on the control stand are on.

(d)
Make sure the red master warning light on the glareshield panel is on.
(e)
Make sure you hear the fire bell on the flight deck aural warning speaker.
(f)
On the fire control module, M7326 (P5), make sure these lights (red) are on: 1) the engine 1, 2, 3, and 4 fire handle switches 2) the APU fire handle switch 3) the lower cargo compartment FWD and AFT smoke indication
switches. 4) COMBIS AND FREIGHTERS; The main deck cargo compartment smoke indication switch.
(g)
Make sure the fire light (red) on the APU shutdown module, M869, in the right wheel well of the main landing gear is on.
(h)
Make sure you hear the aural fire warning in the right wheel well of the main landing gear.
