Procedure

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE CARDS BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE FOR DEVICES
_______ THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CARDS.
(1)
Do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (AMM 20-41-02/201).

Make sure the pins on the circuit card connector are not bent, broken or pushed back.

(3)
Install the circuit card in the card guides.
(a) Adjust the card until it is correctly installed.
(4)
Close the latches that keep the card in its position.

NOTE: If the latches are difficult to close, the card is possibly

not installed correctly.

(5) Close the card file door.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close the applicable circuit breakers as shown in Fig. 402 for the card you removed.

Do the applicable test of the Printed Circuit Card Installation as follows:
(a)
For the APU Fire Det and AFOLTS card, do the APU Fire Detection Operational Test (AMM 26-15-00/501).
(b)
For the WHEEL WELL OVHT DET card , do the Wheel Well Overheat Detection Operational Test (AMM 26-17-00/501).
(c)
For the LWR CARGO AFOLTS card, do the Test of the Smoke Detection System for the cargo areas.
(d)
For the MAIN DECK CARGO AFOLTS card, do the Operational Test of the Main Deck Cargo Smoke Detection system (AMM 26-14-00/501).
(e)
For the ENG FIRE DET card, do the Operational Test of the Engine Fire and Overheat Detection System (AMM 26-11-00/501) , and the AFOLTS Card Installation Test.
D. Engine Fire Detection AFOLTS Card Installation Test

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
6H1 FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 1&3 B
(b)
6H2 FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 1&3 A
(c)
6H3 FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 2&4 B
(d)
6H4 FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 2&4 A
(e)
6H5 FIRE EXTINGUISHER APU
(f)
6H6 FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOWER CARGO

(3) Push and hold the FIRE/OVHT test switch on the M7317 miscellaneous switching panel (P5).
NOTE: During the test, do not release the test switch until one of
____ these EICAS messages FIRE TEST FAIL or TEST PASSED shows. If you release the switch before the EICAS messages show, the test will not be completed. Do not push the ENG/APU CARGO and the ENG switches at the same time.

(4) Do a check for the the following conditions:
(a)
The message TEST IN PROGRESS shows on the upper EICAS display.
(b)
The engine 1, 2, 3, and 4 fuel control switches, S1863, S1864, S1865, and S1866 come on.
(c)
The red master warning light, on the main instrument light shield panel, P72, comes on.
(d)
The fire bell from the flight compartment aural warning speaker sounds.
(e)
The red lights on the engine 1, 2, 3, and 4 fire switch handles, on the pilots overhead panel, P5, come on.
