(1) Open the circuit breakers listed below and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE identifiers:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel 1) 6C5 ALTN PWR LOOP A APU FIRE/BLD DUCT OVHT 2) 6C6 FIRE SW UNLOCK 3) 6H14 APU FIRE/BLD DUCT OVHT LOOP A 4) 6H15 APU FIRE/BLD DUCT OVHT LOOP B

Open the APU access doors, and install the rods to the support doors.

Disconnect the electrical connectors DM216 or DM217 (8) at both ends of detector element (13).

Install the protective caps on both ends of detector element.

CAUTION:_______DO NOT TWIST OR SHARPLY BEND THE DETECTOR ELEMENT. THIS MAY DAMAGE THE DETECTOR ELEMENT.
(5) Remove the retaining nuts (7) which hold detector electrical connector (8) in the end bracket (2), at both ends of detector.

Remove the copper gasket (9).

Remove the end brackets (2) from the support. Upper Detector Element : Screws (1, 4), washer (9), nuts (3, 6). Lower Detector Element: screw (17), nut (14).

For vertical part of the upper detector element, remove the screws (4) and nuts (6) to release the detecor assembly from support.

For horizontal part of the upper detector element, remove the P-clamps (18), screws (4), washers (9), and nuts (6).

For the lower detector element, remove the P-clamps (18), screws (17), and nuts (14) to release the detector assembly from the support bracket.
