(1) Fit the new copper gaskets (9) on the electrical connectors DM216 or DM217 (8) of the detector element and install through the hole in end bracket (2).

Install the retaining nut (7) on both ends of the detector. S 424-023
CAUTION:_______DO NOT TWIST OR SHARPLY BEND THE DETECTOR ELEMENT. THIS MAY DAMAGE THE DETECTOR ELEMENT.

Remove the protective caps from airplane wiring connectors and
connect with the electrical connectors DM216 or DM217 (8).
(3) Position the detector element (13) or (18) along the support tube (14), and make sure the detecotr element is not loose between any two clamps (16).
(4) S 434-024Install the grommet (15) on detector element at the location of the mounting clamps (16).
(5) S 434-025Put the detector element (13) with the grommets (15) in clamps (16).
(6) S 434-026Install the remaining electrical connector DM216 or DM217 (8) through the hole in end bracket (2).
(7) S 434-027Install the retaining nut (7).
(8) S 764-028Make sure the resistance between the electrical connector DM216 or DM217 (8) shell and the primary structure of airplane is not greater than 0.010 ohm.
(9) S 434-029Put the lockwire (19) on the retaining nuts (7).
