 D. Procedure
 S 034-080
 (1)  Remove the screws (6), washers (8), and nuts (9) at the terminal lugs (10) A/1 and B/2 at each end of the detector element (3).

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT TWIST OR BEND THE DETECTORS WHEN YOU REMOVE THEM. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DETECTORS.
 (2)  Remove the retaining nut (4) that holds the detector terminal lugs (10) to the support tube end bracket (5) at each end of the detector.
 NOTE: Some end brackets (5) are installed on the engine support
____ bracket (1). Remove the nuts before you remove the detector element.

Remove the bracket screws (14), washers (16), and nuts (17) on each bracket.

Remove the detector assembly which contains the detector element (3) with the support tube (2).

 D.  AIRPLANES WITH KIDDE DETECTORS; Procedure

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT TWIST OR BEND THE DETECTORS WHEN YOU INSTALL THEM. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DETECTORS.
 (1)  Put the detector element (3) and support tube (2) on the support brackets.

 (2)  Install the bracket screws (14), washers (16), and nuts (17) on each support bracket (15).
 NOTE: Some end brackets (5) are attached to the engine support
____ brackets (15). Install the nuts on the end bracket before you connect the terminal lug.

 (3)  Make sure the resistance between the terminal lugs (10) A/1 and B/2 and the primary structure of the airplane is not more than 0.010 ohm.
