(4) Do a test of the detection system for the aft lower cargo area as follows:

Make smoke at one of the smoke detection ports in the aft lower cargo compartment.
(b)
Make sure these indications occur: 1) The AFT warning light (red) for cargo fire on the P5 pilot's overhead panel comes on. 2) The master WARNING lights (red) on the P72 light shield
come on. 3) The alarm bell operates. 4) The EICAS message, FIRE CARGO AFT, shows on the display.
(c)
Stop the smoke.
(d)
Make sure these indications occur: 1) The warning lights go off. 2) The EICAS message, FIRE CARGO AFT, goes out of view. 3) The alarm bell does not operate.

NOTE: You must do the smoke test after you remove or replace one of

MISCELLANEOUS SWITCHING MODULE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks, one to remove and one to install the miscellaneous switching module, M7317. The module is located on the P5 pilots' overhead panel.
B. If any component in the module malfunctions, the whole unit is replaced. When removing the module, each controlled system must be isolated from the module by opening the specified circuit breakers of each system in the module. After installing the module each system controlled by the module must be tested.
C. When the modules' electrical connector, DM7317B, is disconnected, all the emergency lights in the airplane are placed in the armed condition. In the armed condition, power must be provided to the emergency lights or they will come on and will stay on until their batteries are discharged or the M7317 module connector is connected. This requires that the 28-volt dc bus 4 be energized and that the two emergency lights power circuit breakers on the P7 pilots' overhead panel be closed while DM7317B is disconnected.
