Before you touch the squib, do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (AMM 20-41-02/201).

Disconnect the connector DM103B from the squib on the APU fire extinguisher bottle.

WARNING:_______PUT A PROTECTIVE COVER ON THE FIRE BOTTLE SQUIB. IF YOU DO NOT PUT A PROTECTIVE COVER ON THE FIRE BOTTLE SQUIB, THE FIRE BOTTLE CAN RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT PUT A SHUNT PLUG ON THE FIRE BOTTLE SQUIB. THE SHUNT PLUG CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SQUIB PINS.

Put a protective cover on the fire bottle squib.

(1) Do the test of the APU fire shutdown module.
(a) Push and hold the FIRE/OVHT TEST switch on the P5 pilot's overhead panel.

Make sure that the APU FIRE light (red) on the APU shutdown module M869 (M869 module) comes on.
(c)
Make sure that the APU FIRE WARNING HORN on the M869 module goes on.
CAUTION: DO NOT PUSH THE SWITCH THAT LETS THE CONTENTS OUT OF THE
_______ APU FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE AFTER THE FIRE CONTROL SWITCH IS PULLED. THE CONTENTS OF THE APU FIRE BOTTLE WILL COME OUT IF YOU PUSH THE SWITCH.
