Slide the blade of the standard screwdriver between the smoke sensor and the cover.

If the mesh is very dirty, replace it with a new mesh. S 177-012

If the mesh is dirty, wash it with synthetic detergent and luke-warm water.

APU FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

General (Fig. 1)

A. A dual-loop fire detection system is installed in the APU compartment. This system monitors temperatures in the compartment, and provides alert for a fire condition.
B. The APU fire detection sytem uses power from the 28-volts dc battery bus and bus No. 1. The system circuit breakers are on P6 main power distribution panel. The system contains no on/off switches.
C. The system is composed of two loops. Each loop has two detector elements electrically connected in parallel, so that either element can trigger an alarm or fault for that loop.
