Remove dust from the exterior of the unit with a nylon bristle brush. Finish with a dry, lint-free cloth.
(2)
Remove the detector assembly (Ref 26-14-51/401).

Remove the two screws on the face plate which hold the face plate to the smoke detector assembly.

Remove the face plate from the smoke detector assembly.
(5)
Push the lock release mechanism in the smoke detector assembly.
