APU Fire Detection (26-15-00)
(a) The APU fire detection circuit is similar to that of the engine circuit, using two continuous dual-element sensors. The APU fire detection circuit has the addition of a control panel in the right-hand body gear wheel well. This panel has an APU fire warning horn to notify the ground service crew of an APU fire, and also has a red fire light and fire extinguishing controls. The flight crew will be notified of fire and fault condition by master fire warning light, fire bell, warning, advisory, and status EICAS messages.

Lower Cargo Compartment Smoke Detection (26-16-00)
(a) The forward lower cargo compartment has four (eight on Freighters) smoke detectors, and aft compartment has four smoke detectors (eight on Freighters). Each smoke detector has a beacon lamp which supplies a smoke (fire) indication to flight crew when smoke is present in the air. The system can be tested by a test switch on the P5 pilot's overhead panel. The flight crew will be notified of fire and fault condition by master fire light, fire bell, warning, and status EICAS messages.
