 AFT UPPER DECK CREW REST AREA SMOKE DETECTION SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are three smoke detectors with sensors mounted on the ceiling of the aft upper deck crew rest area.
 B.  This section contains procedures to perform an operational test and a system test of the aft upper deck crew rest area smoke detection system.
 (1)  
The operational test makes sure the system operates correctly in a minimum of time and uses only equipment installed in the airplane.

 (2)  
The system test increases the scope of the operational test to provide all performance requirements of the system.

 C.  Procedure
 S 865-002
 (1)  
Close the circuit breaker 7F4 CREW REST SMOKE DET on P7 overhead circuit breaker panel.

 (2)  
Open the following circuit breakers on the P6 panel:

 (a)  
6L10, ENG 1 FUEL CONT VLV

 (b)  
6L13, ENG 4 FUEL CONT VLV

 

 (3)
Set the ENGINE FUEL CONTROL switch for engine 1 and 4 to RUN.

 (4)  
Set the ENGINE FUEL CONTROL switch for engines 2 and 3 to CUTOFF.

 (5)  
Make sure the POWER INDICATOR light (green) is on for all three smoke detectors in the crew rest area.

 (6)  
Push and hold the SELF TEST switch on the forward smoke detector.

 S 755-005
 (7)  Make sure these occur:
 (a)  
The smoke detector horn operates continuously.

 (b)  
The ALARM INDICATING LIGHT (red) on the detector comes on.

 (c)  
The EICAS message, ">SMOKE CREW REST", shows.

 (d)  
The Master Caution lights and alarms come on in the P10 panel.

 NOTE: The Master Caution lights and alarms come on after 5
____ minutes from the time the Fuel Control switch was set to Cutoff.

 (8)  
Release the SELF TEST switch.

 (9)  
Push either Master Caution light switch on the P10 panel to extinguish light and aural alarms.

 Observe these conditions:

 (a)  
The smoke detector horns stops.

 (b)  
The EICAS message, ">SMOKE CREW REST", does not show.

 (c)  
The ALARM INDICATOR light (red) goes off.

 Repeat the operational test procedure again for the left and right crew rest detectors.

 Set the ENGINE FUEL CONTROL switch for engines 1 and 4 to CUTOFF.

 Close the circuit following breakers on the P6 panel:

 (a)  6L10, ENG 1 FUEL CONT VLV
