Operational Test with the FIRE/OVHT TEST Switch

(1) Push and hold the FIRE/OVHT TEST switch on the MISCELLANEOUS SWITCHING MODULE, M7317, on the P5 panel.
NOTE: During the test, do not release the test switch until one
____ of the EICAS messages, FIRE TEST FAIL or TEST PASSED, is shown. If you release the switch before one of these messages is shown, the test is not complete.

(2) Make sure these conditions occur:
(a)
On the pilot's overhead panel, P5, the red cargo fire FWD and AFT warning lights are on.
(b)
On the main instrument light shield, P72, the red master WARNING light is on.
(c)
The alarm bell is on.
(d)
The EICAS message, TEST IN PROGRESS, shows during the test.
NOTE: The EICAS message, FIRE TEST FAIL, can show because
____ circuit breakers are open or because there is a real failure on a related fire/overheat system.
(e) The EICAS message, TEST PASSED, shows when the test is complete.

(f) The EICAS messages that follow are not shown: 1) FIRE CARGO AFT 2) FIRE CARGO FWD

(3) Push the red WARNING switch-light on the main instrument light shield.
(a)
Make sure that the master WARNING lights go off.
(b)
Make sure the alarm bell goes off.

Release the FIRE/OVHT TEST switch.

Make sure that the test messages do not show on the EICAS display.

Approximately 20 seconds after you release the switch, make sure the EICAS status messages for the lower cargo compartment smoke detection system do not show on the display.
E. Operational Test with the CMC.

CAUTION: AFTER YOU DO A GROUND TEST, MAKE SURE THAT THE TWO GROUND TEST

SWITCHES ARE SET TO THE "NORM" POSITION.
(1)
Set one of the two switches that follow to the ENABLE position:
(a)
S2089, Ground Test Enable Switch (P461)
(b)
S2090, Remote Test Enable Switch (RCDU)
(2)
Set the CMC to the CMC main menu.
(3)
Push the line select key adjacent to the <GROUND TESTS prompt.
