(h)
Adjust the regulator to 10 psi.
(i)
Open valve 2 slowly until fully open.
(j)
Checks for leaks in the airplane.
(k)
Close valve 2 and back-off the regulator.
(l)
Position valve 3 to SOAP/WATER.
(m)
Adjust the regulator to 10 psi.
(n)
Open valve 2 slowly until fully open.
(o)
Increase the regulator pressure slowly until soap/water flow through the outlet lines.
NOTE: Make sure the regulator pressure do not exceed 15 psi.

(p)
Soak the tubes in a soap/water for 1 minute.
(q)
Close valve 2 and back-off the regulator.
(r)
Position valve 3 to AIR/WATER.
(s)
Adjust the regulator to 10 psi.
(t)
Open valve 2 slowly until fully open.
(u)
Run water for 2 minutes minimum or until no soap appears in the outlet lines.
(v)
Close the valve 2 and back-off the regulator.
(w)
Position valve 3 to DRAIN until most of the water has emptied from the inlet lines.
(x)
Position valve 3 to AIR/WATER.
(y)
Position valve 1 to AIR.
(z)
Adjust regulator to 10 psi.
(aa) Open valve 2 slowly until fully open.
(ab) Run the compressed air for 2 minutes minimum or until little or
no water flows from the outlet lines. (ac) Make sure all the debris has been removed from the manifold. (ad) Close valve 2 and back-off the regulator. (ae) Remove the inlet and outlet lines from airplane. (af) Continue to the next zone.
NOTE: In the final zone, after running soap/water, replace
____ soap with clean water and run 1 bottle of water through injector to clean.

(6) After cleaning is completed, do the following steps to install manifold above the smoke detectors:
(a)
Cut the tie staps at the outlet lines to remove the outlet lines.
(b)
Replace damage sleeves that connect the manifold to adjoining outlet lines as required.
(c)
Remove the caps from the inlet tubes on the smoke detector.
(d)
Connect the manifold to the smoke detectors.
(e)
Replace and secure the tie straps on sleeves.

AFT UPPER DECK CREW REST AREA SMOKE DETECTION SYSTEM DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

A. Three smoke detectors with sensors are mounted on the ceiling of the aft upper deck crew rest area. When the concentration of smoke at the sensor reaches a preset threshold, the detector responds by providing a voltage output to the alarm that is integral with the smoke detector, thus alerting flight crew/attendants to the source.
