APU FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. This section contains an operational test and a system test for the APU fire detection system.
(1)
The operational test makes sure the system operates correctly in a minimum of time, using only equipment installed on the aircraft. The operational test includes a test using the FIRE/OVHT switch and a test using the CMC.
(2)
The system test provides a complete test of the system using the test equipment installed on the aircraft and a multimeter.
(3)
The system test has four tasks. The first task is an airplane wiring continuity test. The second task is a warning indication test. The third task is a detector element resistance test. The fourth task tests the functions of the APU fire handle.
B. The detector elements are installed on the left APU access door and near the aft APU mount. Access to the detectors is through the APU access doors.
