C. Adjustment of the Rods.

(1)
Adjust the rod (4).
(2)
Unscrew the nut (12)
(3)
Pull up the bush (13) and extend the rod (4).
(4)
Push down the bush (13) to lock the rod in the extended position.
(5)
Adjust the center-to-center distance to L=544 +1 -1 mm (21.4173 +0.0393 -0.0393 in.) by acting on eye end (11).
(6)
Tighten down nut (12).

D. Lubrication.
(1) Lubricate the bolts and the ends of the rod (4) with the COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-004).
4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Rods.
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 53-15-11-991-001, 408/TASK 53-15-11-991-005)
(1)
Install the adjusted rod (4) on the support (1).
(2)
Install the bolt (2) with the head on the outer side of the aircraft.
(3)
Install the nut (8).
(4)
Tighten the nut (8).
(5)
Install the cotter pin (18) (9).
(6)
Put the rod (4) on the support of the fuselage.
(7)
Install the bolt (3) with the head on the outer side of the aircraft. If it is necessary, pull the heads of the rods to install the bolt
(3) easily.
(8)
Install the washer (5) and the nut (6).
(9)
Tighten the nut (6).
(10) Install the cotter pin (16) (7). Subtask 53-15-11-020-056
B. Removal of the Sling-Radome.
(1)
Loosen SLING-RADOME (42) and remove it from the radome (10).
(2)
Remove the lifting equipment.

(1)
Fully open the radome (10) (Ref. TASK 53-15-11-010-001).
(2)
Make sure that the radome is locked correctly:
(a)
The bush (13) is in the maximum low position.
(b)
The painted red ring is not in view.
(3)
Close the radome. (Ref. TASK 53-15-11-410-001)

C. Close Access
(1)
Remove the plastic bag from the radome.
(2)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(3)
Close the radome (Ref. TASK 53-15-11-410-001).
(4)
Remove the warning notice(s).
(5)
Remove the access platform(s).
