(1) Install the SLING-RADOME (98D53103500000) on the radome.
(2) Remove the radome from the TROLLEY - RADOME (98D53103013000).

D. Adjustment of the Rods
(Ref. Fig. 402/TASK 53-15-11-991-002)
(1)
Adjust the rods (13).
(2)
Extend the rods and lock them with the bushes (22).
(3)
Loosen the nut (21) and turn the eye end (20) to set the rod (13) to a nominal center-to-center distance of L=544 +1 -1 mm (21.4173 +0.0393 -0.0393 in.).
(4)
Tighten the nut (21).
(5)
Lubricate the bolts and the eye ends of the rods (13) with COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-004)

4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Radome
(Ref. Fig. 402/TASK 53-15-11-991-002)
CAUTION : DO NOT USE THE LOCALIZER ANTENNA AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RADOME AS

A SUPPORT.
(1)
Carefully put the radome in position with the lifting equipment.
(2)
Install the radome (19).
(a)
Put the hinge fittings (7) of the radome in position opposite the support fittings of the radome.
(b)
Install the bolts (5).
(c)
Install the washers (4) and the nuts (3).
(d)
Tighten the nuts (3).
(e) Install the cotter pins (2). Subtask 53-15-11-420-055
B. Installation of the Component
(1)
Install the rods (13) on the hinge fittings of the radome.
(a)
Install the bolts (11). If necessary, pull the heads of the rods to install the bolts
(11) easily.
(b)
Install the nuts (17).
(c)
Tighten the nuts (17).
(d)
Install the cotter pins (18).
(2)
Connect the bonding leads (8).
(a)
Install the bolts (10), the washers (9) and the nuts (6).
(b)
Do an electrical bonding of the bolts (10) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-004).

Tighten the nuts (6).

C. Removal of the Radome Sling
(1)
Remove the SLING-RADOME (98D53103500000) from the radome.

D. Adjustment of the Locking Handle

(1)
Put a spring scale with a capacity of 20 daN (44.9617 lbf) at 10 mm (0.3937 in.) from the end of the locking handle (30).
(2)
Make sure that the tension of the lock is between 8 daN (17.9847 lbf) and 12 daN (26.9770 lbf).
(3)
If necessary, adjust the tension of the lock as follows:
(a)
Open the radome (Ref. TASK 53-15-11-010-001).
(b)
Adjust the tension of the lock to between 8 daN (17.9847 lbf) and 12 daN (26.9770 lbf) with the nut (31) of the spring rod (32).

E. Check of the Hook Out-of-flush Dimension

(1) Check that the out-of-flush dimension between the hinge arm (92) and the radome (91) is J1= 0.5 -1.5 +1.5 mm (0.0196 -0.0590 +0.0590 in.).
