(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
(2) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
(3) Make sure that the warning notice is in position to tell persons not to operate the main gear doors.

R (1) Make sure that the main gear doors are open (Ref. TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
R (2) Make sure that the GROUND LOCK SLEEVE (460005835) is on the applicable main gear door actuator.
R (3) Make sure that the access platform is in position below the refuel valve (2).

R R A. Preparation for Installation
R R (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4) Lubricate the new O-ring (9) and the internal surface of the valve canister with FUELS (Material No. 01-001) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012).
(5) Install the O-ring (9) on the refuel valve (2).

B. Installation of the Refuel Valve 10QU
(1) Install the refuel valve (2) in the valve canister.
(2) Install and tighten the nuts (3).
(3) Use the screw (7), the nut (4) and the washers (5) and (8) to attach the bonding strap (1) to the refuel valve (2) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-004).
(4) Remove the blanking cap from the electrical connector (6).
(5) Install the electrical connector (6).

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1QU, 2QU.

D. Test
(1) To test the refuel valve:
-refuel the center tank (Ref. TASK 12-11-28-650-003) or
R - transfer fuel into the center tank from the wing tanks (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(2) Make sure there are no leaks from the refuel valve.
