When the fuel quantity has decreased to the necessary level:
(a) On the panel 40VU:
-release (out) the L TK PUMPS 1 and 2 (R TK PUMPS 1 and 2) P/BSW's
-the related CTR TK XFR P/BSW
-make sure that the applicable P/BSW OFF lights come on
-release (out) the MODE SEL P/BSW. Make sure that the MAN light of the MODE SEL P/BSW goes off (center-tank transfer system now in manual control).
(b) On the SD FUEL page:
-
make sure that the fuel quantity indications become stable
-
make sure that the fuel quantity indication for the center (transfer) tank stops decreasing.

To defuel the wing-tank(s) and the center (transfer) tank until empty:
WARNING : MOVE ALL THE FUEL OUT OF THE CENTER TANK BEFORE YOU GET
_______ ACCESS TO A WING TANK. FUEL IN THE CENTER TANK WILL MOVE INTO AN EMPTY WING TANK BY GRAVITY.
(a) On the panel 40VU:
1_ Push (in) the MODE SEL P/BSW. Make sure that the MAN light of
the MODE SEL P/BSW goes off (center-tank transfer system now
in automatic control).
NOTE : You can transfer fuel from the center (transfer) tank____
with the center transfer system in manual control.
2_ Push (in) the L TK PUMPS 1 and 2 (R TK PUMPS 1 and 2)
P/BSW(s).
3_ Push (in) the related CTR TK XFR P/BSW.
4_ Make sure that the applicable P/BSW OFF lights go off.
NOTE : You can defuel the center (transfer) tank without____
defueling the wing-tank(s) if there is sufficient space
(in the wing-tank(s)) for the center-tank fuel.
If you defuel the wing-tank(s) only, gravity will move
the fuel from the center (transfer) tank into the
wing-tank(s). This will happen even if the CTR TK XFR
P/BSW(s) (on the panel 40VU) are released (out)
(control valve(s) closed).

_ (transfer) tank fuel quantity.
6 When the fuel quantity in the LH(RH) wing-tank(s) and center
_ (transfer) tank indicate zero for 2 minutes, on the panel 40VU:
-
release (out) the L TK PUMPS 1 and 2 (R TK PUMPS 1 and 2) P/BSWs
-
release (out) the CTR TK L XFR (CTR TK R XFR) P/BSW(s)
-make sure that the applicable P/BSW OFF lights come on.
(b) Drain the remaining fuel from the tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
