Defuel the applicable wing tank and the center tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).

Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

D. Get Access
(1)
Put an adjustable access platform below the applicable access panel 540AB(640AB).
(2)
Remove the applicable access panels 540AB, 640AB (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
(3)
Safety open the applicable spring-loaded surge-door 540BZ, 640BZ with the HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) (98D57004014000).
(4)
If necessary, remove the applicable Fuel Quantity Indicating (FQI) probe 54QT1(54QT2) (Ref. TASK 28-42-15-000-005):

Remove the fuel pipes, as necessary, to get access to the applicable discharge check valve (Ref. TASK 28-00-00-000-001).

4. Procedure

A. Inspection of the Transfer-System Discharge-Check-Valve
(1)
Manually operate the transfer-system discharge-check-valve. Make sure that the check valve moves fully and freely.
(2)
If necessary, replace the transfer-system discharge-check-valve (Ref. TASK 28-26-44-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 28-26-44-400-001).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Install the fuel pipes that you removed (Ref. TASK 28-00-00-400-001).
(3)
If necessary, install the applicable FQI probe 54QT1(54QT2) (Ref. TASK 28-42-15-400-005):
(4)
Remove the HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) (98D57004014000) and carefully close the applicable spring-loaded surge-door 540BZ, 640BZ.
(5)
Install the applicable access panels 540AB, 640AB (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-400-001).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1QA, 2QA, 7QA, 8QA, 11QA, 12QA, 1QL, 2QL.
