A. Safety Precautions

B. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform in position below the applicable access panel.
(2)
For 40QM and 41QM, remove the access panels 622FB, 622HB, 622JB.
(3)
For 40QM, also remove the access panel 640JB, (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-002).

B. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform in position below the applicable access panel.
(2)
Remove the applicable access panels:
-
FOR 40QM, 41QM
remove 622FB, 622HB, 622JB
-
FOR 100QM, 101QM
remove 522FB, 522HB, 522JB.
(3)
Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
-
FOR 40QM also remove 640JB (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-002)
-
FOR 100QM also remove 540JB (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-002).

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Refuel/Defuel Coupling/Cap
(1) Disconnect the chain (5) from the lug (4) and remove the coupling cap
(6) from the coupling (7).
NOTE : The chain (5) is spring-loaded into a protection sleeve on the
____
cap (6).
(2) Put a container below the coupling (7). Operate the coupling check-valve by hand to drain all remaining fuel. Remove the container.
NOTE : It is possible that there is a washer behind the nuts (3) and
____ (8). You will subsequently remove and retain the washer(s).
(3) For the bolts (1) and (10) where there is a washer behind the nuts
(3) and (8):
-make a temporary mark on the coupling (7), so that you can install the same washer in the same position.
NOTE : Sealing of the bolt will be retained if you prevent movement
____
of the bolt.
(4)
Engage a hexagon key in the end of each of the bolts (1) and (10) to prevent movement of the bolts. Remove the nuts (3) and (8). Leave the bolts (1) and (10) in position.
(5)
Remove the coupling (7).
(6)
Discard the coupling (7) if it is to be replaced.
(7)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
(8)
Remove and discard the O-rings (2) and (9).
