R B. Fuel Transfer
R R R WARNING : MOVE ALL THE FUEL OUT OF THE CENTER TANK BEFORE YOU GET ACCESS_______ TO A WING TANK. FUEL IN THE CENTER TANK WILL MOVE INTO AN EMPTY WING TANK BY GRAVITY.
R R CAUTION : DO NOT LET THE FUEL PUMPS OPERATE FOR MORE THAN 15 MINUTES WITH_______ THE FAULT LIGHT ON. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FUEL PUMPS.
NOTE : For maintenance procedures, you do not need to defuel both of the____ wing tanks. It is possible to have one wing tank empty and the other wing tank full.
(1) To move fuel from the wing tanks:
(a) On the fuel control panel 40VU: - push (in) the L TK PUMPS 1 and 2 (R TK PUMPS 1 and 2) P/BSW's - make sure that the applicable P/BSW OFF lights go off.
(b) On the ECAM SDU, monitor the fuel quantity indications. Make sure that the fuel quantities of the related tanks, decrease or increase as applicable.
NOTE : During this procedure the ECAM may show unwanted____ indications, which you can ignore.
(c) When the fuel quantities are correct, on the fuel control panel 40VU: - release (out) the L TK PUMPS 1 and 2 (R TK PUMPS 1 and 2) P/BSWs - make sure that the applicable P/BSW OFF lights come on.
(2) To move all of the fuel from the wing tanks, on the fuel control panel 40VU:
(a) Push (in) the L TK PUMPS 1 and 2 (R TK PUMPS 1 and 2) P/BSWs.
(b) Make sure that the applicable P/BSW OFF lights go off.
(c) Operate the L TK PUMPS 1 and 2 (R TK PUMPS 1 and 2) until the FAULT light of the TK PUMPS P/BSW comes on.

(d) Release (out) the L TK PUMPS 1 and 2 (R TK PUMPS 1 and 2) P/BSWs. Make sure that the applicable P/BSW OFF lights come on and that the applicable P/BSW FAULT lights go off.
(3) To move fuel from the center (transfer) tank:
(a)
On the fuel control panel 40VU:
(b)
On the ECAM SDU, monitor the fuel quantity indications. Make sure that the fuel quantities of the related tanks, decrease or increase as applicable.
(c)
When the fuel tank quantities are correct, on the fuel control panel 40VU:
1_ Push (in) the MODE SEL P/BSW.
2_ Make sure that the P/BSW MAN light goes off.
NOTE : You can only transfer fuel from the center tank with____
the fuel pumps in automatic control.
3_ Push (in) the CTR TK L XFR (CTR TK R XFR) P/BSW. Make sure
that the applicable P/BSW OFF light goes off.
4_ Push (in) the related TK PUMPS 1 and 2 P/BSWs. Make sure that
the applicable P/BSW OFF lights go off.
-release (out) the CTR TK L XFR (CTR TK R XFR) P/BSW and the related TK PUMPS 1 and 2 P/BSW
-make sure that the applicable P/BSW OFF lights come on
- on the ECAM SDU make sure that the fuel quantity indication for the center tank stops decreasing.
(4) To move all of the fuel from the center (transfer) tank:
(a)
On the panel 40VU, push (in) the CTR TK L XFR (CTR TK R XFR) P/BSW and the related TK PUMPS 1 and 2 P/BSWs. Make sure that the related P/BSW OFF lights go off.
(b)
On the ECAM lower DU, monitor the center (transfer) tank fuel quantity.
(c)
When the center (transfer) tank fuel quantity indicates zero for 2 minutes, on the panel 40VU:
-release (out) the CTR TK L XFR (CTR TK R XFR) P/BSW and the related TK PUMPS 1 and 2 P/BSWs
-make sure that the applicable P/BSW OFF lights come on.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
On the fuel control panel 40VU, release (out) the X FEED P/BSW. Make sure that the P/BSW OPEN and ON lights go off.
(2)
On the ECAM lower DU, make sure that the crossfeed valve indication shows green cross-line (closed) (Ref. 28-23-00).
(3)
On the fuel control panel 40VU, push (in) the MODE SEL P/BSW. Make sure that the P/BSW MAN light goes off.
(4)
On the ECAM lower DU, turn the LOWER DISPLAY switch counter-clockwise to the off position. Make sure that the ECAM lower DU goes off.
