Make sure that the aircraft and the fuel tanker/pump are grounded correctly (Ref. TASK 12-34-24-869-001).
(3)
Do not spill fuel on the engines or the brakes. If you spill fuel on engines or brakes that are hot, it can cause fires.
(4)
Remove the refuel coupling cap 41QM.
(5)
Make sure that the hose-coupling of the fuel tanker/pump unit is clean.
(6)
Connect the hose-coupling of the fuel tanker/pump unit to the aircraft refuel/defuel coupling.
(7)
Make sure that the fuel tanker(s) has(have) sufficient space for the fuel quantity to be defueled.
(8)
Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(9)
Energize the ECAM system (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(10) On the ECAM Control Panel:
-push (in) the FUEL system page button.

(11) On the refuel/defuel control panel 800VU:
(a) Make sure that the refuel valve switches are in the NORM and
guarded position.
(b) Put the MODE SELECT switch to the DEFUEL XFR position and make
sure that the OPEN light comes on.
(12) On the panel 40VU, push (in) the X FEED P/BSW. Make sure that the ON
and OPEN lights come on.
(13) Make sure that on the SD FUEL page the crossfeed valve indication is
shown green in-line (valve open) (Ref.28-23-00).

R WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE FUEL SUPPLY HOSE IS CORRECTLY CONNECTED TO_______
R THE COUPLING BEFORE YOU REFUEL/DEFUEL THE AIRCRAFT. DO NOT
R CONNECT THE FUEL SUPPLY HOSE IF THERE ARE SIGNS OF DAMAGE TO
R THE AIRCRAFT COUPLING LUGS OR SLOTS.
R CAUTION : IF YOU OPERATE THE APU DURING A DEFUEL PROCEDURE, MAKE SURE_______
R THAT THE FUEL LEVEL IN THE TANKS IS SUFFICIENT. IF THE FUEL IS
R BELOW THE LOW LEVEL, AIR CAN GO INTO THE FUEL FEED LINE. THIS
R WILL CAUSE THE APU TO STOP.
R NOTE : For maintenance procedures, it is not necessary to defuel both of____
R the wing tanks. It is possible to have one wing tank empty and the
R other wing tank full.
R (1) Put the access platform adjacent to the applicable refuel coupling
R 100QM (40QM).
R (2) Make sure that the aircraft and the fuel tanker/pump unit are
R grounded correctly (Ref. TASK 12-34-24-869-001).
R (3) Do not spill fuel on the engines or the brakes. If you spill fuel on
R engines or brakes that are hot, it can cause fires.
R (4) Remove the applicable refuel coupling cap 101QM (41QM).
R (5) Make sure that the hose-coupling of the fuel tanker/pump unit is
R clean.
R (6) Connect the hose-coupling of the fuel tanker/pump unit to the
R aircraft refuel/defuel coupling.
R NOTE : Make sure there is sufficient space in the fuel tanker for the____
R movement of fuel from the aircraft tanks.
R (7) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-
R 002).
R (8) Energize the ECAM system (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
R (9) On the ECAM Control Panel:
R - push (in) the FUEL system page button.
R (10) On the refuel/defuel control panel 800VU:
R (a) Make sure that the refuel valve switches are in the NORM and
