(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
(2) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2)
Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(3)
Make sure that the access platform is below the applicable access panel 540JB (640JB).
(4)
Make sure that the applicable wing access panel is removed (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-002):

A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Clean the component interfaces and/or the adjacent areas with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
(2)
Lubricate the new O-ring (11) with FUELS (Material No. 01-001) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012).
(3)
Install the O-ring (11) in the groove on the face of the refuel valve canister (10).

B. Installation of the Refuel Valve Canister 19QM (20QM)
(1)
Install the refuel valve canister (10) on the front spar.
(2)
Install the spacer (13) and attach with the bolts (12).
(3)
Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(4)
Lubricate the new O-ring (3) with FUELS (Material No. 01-001).
(5)
Install the O-ring. (3) in the groove in the adapter (14). Connect the adapter (14) to the refuel valve canister (10) with the bolts (2).
(6)
Lubricate the new O-ring (7) with FUELS (Material No. 01-001).
(7)
Install the O-ring (7) in the groove in the elbow (8). Connect the elbow (8) to the refuel valve canister (10) with the bolts (9).
(8)
Use the screw (5) and the nut (4) to attach the bonding straps (1) and (6) to the refuel valve canister (10) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-002).

B. Installation of the Refuel Valve Canister 19QM (20QM)
(1)
Install the refuel valve canister (10) on the front spar.
(2)
Install the spacer (13) and attach with the bolts (12).
