CONTROL STAND COVERS, SEALS AND LIGHTPLATES - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure has two tasks, to remove and install the control stand
 covers, seals and lightplates.

 (1)  
Remove hydraulic power (AMM 29-15-00/201).

 (2)  
Put the thrust levers in the IDLE position.

 (3)  
Put the start levers in the CUTOFF position.

 (4)  
Do these steps to remove the covers, seals and lightplates
 (Fig. 401 and 402):

 

 (a)  Remove the tie rod nut (7) from the tie rod
 (8, Fig. 401).

 NOTE: It is recommended that you discard the old tie rod
____ nuts and replace with new tie rod nuts.
 (b)  
Pull the tie rod (8) from the right side of the control stand.

 (c)  
Remove the control wheel (6) from the spline shaft (2).

 (d)  
Remove the left and right upper side doors (5).

 (e)  
Remove the lower right access panel (9).

 (f)  
Disconnect the stabilizer trim cutout switches (14).

 (g)  
Cut the lockwire and remove the nut (1).

 (h)  
Remove the fire control module (15) from the aft electronic panel (AMM 26-21-51/401).

 (i)  
Remove the forward and aft cover tie straps
 (4 and 2, Fig. 402).


 (j)  
Remove the forward and aft cover angles (6 and 8).

 (k)  
Remove the horn cutout switch (16, Fig. 401).

 (l)  
Lift the cover assemblies (5, Fig. 402) from the control stand.
