 (2)  Put the thrust levers in the IDLE position and clamp the cables.

 NOTE:____ Do this to prevent damage to the switches and to the glass

Open the access door for the lower nose compartment.

 (a)  Find the turnbuckle locations for the flap control cables WFA and WFB in the Flight Control Cables - Maintenance Practices (AMM 27-09-14/201).

Install the rig pin through the forward control drum for the speed brake and into the structure (Fig. 401).

Turn the trim wheel for the left stabilizer until you can get access to the connector link in the stabilizer trim chain.

 Do the adjustment for the forward support link to lift the forward mechanism to decrease the tension on stabilizer trim chain (Fig. 402).

 Disconnect the connector link in the stabilizer trim chain.


 (a)  Do not remove the chain from the stabilizer trim sprocket in the control stand.

 Open the access door No. 1201 for the electronic equipment
 compartment (AMM 12-31-11/201).

 Loosen the turnbuckles in the electronic equipment compartment to decrease the tension on the thrust control cables T1A, T1B, T2A, and T2B.


 (a)  Find the turnbuckle locations for the thrust control cables T1A, T1B, T2A, and T2B in the Engine Control Cables -Maintenance Practices (AMM 76-11-04/201).
 E. Remove the Control Stand Covers, Seals, and Lightplates

 (1)  Remove these covers, seals, lightplates, switch plates, lever stops, control wheels, and panels to get access to the start levers.
 (a)  
Left and right control wheels for stabilizer trim. 1) Remove the screw to remove the left control wheel. 2) Remove the left control wheel from the spline shaft. 3) Remove the screw to remove the right control wheel. 4) Remove the right control wheel from the spline shaft.

 (b)  
Aft guard plate. 1) Remove the two screws from the aft guard plate. 2) Remove the aft guard plate.

 (c)  
Start lever cover and dust seals. 1) Remove the two screws from the start lever cover and seals. 2) Remove the start lever cover and seals.

 (d)  
Aft stop for the thrust lever.
 1) Remove three screws from the aft stop.
 2) Remove the aft stop.


 (e)  
Forward stop for the thrust lever. 1) Remove four screws from the forward stop. 2) Remove the forward stop.

 (f)  
Thrust lever covers and seals. 1) Remove six screws from two right covers and seals. 2) Remove the two right covers and seals.

 (g)  
Covers and lightplates for the right stabilizer trim lever. 1) Remove the two screws from the right cover. 2) Put the masking tape on the surface of the lightplate to


 protect the surface. 3) Remove the electrical cable clamps, as necessary, to get the wire slack. 4) Remove the right cover and lightplate for the stabilizer trim lever.
