THRUST LEVERS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has three tasks. The first is the task to prepare the
 airplane for the thrust lever removal. The second is the thrust lever
 removal. The third is the thrust lever installation.

 2.  Thrust Lever Removal Preparation________________________________
 A.  Equipment
 (1)  
Assembly - Rig Pin, F70207-11, Component of Rig
 Pin Kit F70207-93. Optional: MS20392-4C pin
 (or equivalent 0.311 +0.000/-0.002-inch
 diameter, 6-inch long rod or bolt)


 (2)  
Set - Thrust Lever Dowel, Control Stand,
 F80195-1

Remove hydraulic power (AMM 29-15-00/201).

Put the two thrust levers in the IDLE position and attach the cables with a clamp.

Put the two start levers in the CUTOFF position and attach the cables with a clamp.

 (4)  
Open the access door of the nose compartment.

Release the tension on the flap control cables, WFA and WFB:

 (a)  Loosen the turnbuckles in the lower nose compartment (AMM 27-09-14/201 for turnbuckle location).

Install a rig pin through the control drum of the forward speed brake into the structure (Fig. 401).

In the lower nose compartment, adjust the forward and aft support links to lift the forward mechanism and to release the tension in the trim chain assembly (Fig. 402).

Open the access door No. 1201 to the electronic equipment bay (AMM 12-31-11/201).

Release the tension on the thrust control cables T1A, T1B, T2A, and T2B:

 (a)  
Loosen the turnbuckles in the electronic equipment compartment (AMM 76-11-04/201 for turnbuckle location).

 (b)  
Disconnect and tags the cables for the applicable thrust lever.

 (10) Loosen the turnbuckles in the forward cargo compartment to release the tension on the cables for engine start control ESS1A, ESS1B, ESS2A and ESS2B (AMM 76-11-04/201 for turnbuckle location).
