 (4)  Install the cup washer and nut on the end of the short control shaft.
 (a)  Tighten the nut with your fingers.
 H. Remove the Start Levers

Remove the protective cover from the aft electronics panel (P8).

Remove the engine and APU fire control module from the aft electronics panel (P8) to get access to the cable guard for the start lever (AMM 26-21-51/401).

Remove four screws from the cable guard for the start lever.

Remove the cable guard.

Remove the screw from the wire bundle clamp for the thrust lever.

Remove the clamp from the start lever.

Turn the start lever until you can see the bolt on the engine start link and the start cable drum through the aft electronics panel (P8) and the start cable cutout that is aft of the control stand.

Remove the bolt, the nut, and the washer from the engine start link and the start cable drum.

Put a protective cover on the aft electronics panel (P8).

 Use the lockwasher removal tool to straighten the crimped tab on the right cup washer for the long control shaft.

 Use the control shaft wrench and the control nut wrench to remove right nut and the cup washer from the long control shaft.
