 (6)  Install the nut on the short control shaft.
 (a)  Tighten the nut to 200-300 pound-inches.

Use the lockwasher break tool to bend the cup washer flange to hold the control shaft nut.

Connect the right arm for the stabilizer trim linkage.


 F.  Install the Splined Shaft, the Stabilizer Trim Sprocket, and the Chain Guard.

 (1)  Install the chain guard with three screws.
 (a)  Install the aft screw of the chain guard through the CUTOUT switch hole. 1) Use a screwdriver with a 90 degree No. 2 Phillips bit. 2) Make sure the cable remains in the flap lever cable drum
 groove. 3) Make sure the wire bundle for the No. 2 thrust lever is enclosed in the chain guard.

 (2)  Install nylon cam for the flap lever.
 (a)  Install a safety wire.

Get the stabilizer trim sprocket and chain from the bottom of control stand.

Support the stabilizer trim sprocket with one hand, and push the splined shaft, bearings, and spacers into the left end of the two hollow control shafts.


 (a)  Install the long splined end of the shaft towards the right side of the control stand.
 G.  Install the Control Stand Covers, Seals, and the Lightplates.

 (1)  Install these covers, seals, lightplates, switch plates, lever stops, control wheels, and panels on the control stand.
 (a)  Side panels 1) Install the side panels on the control stand.

(b)  Stabilizer trim CUTOUT switches. 1) Remove the CUTOUT switch plate restraint. 2) Put the CUTOUT switch plate in the correct position for the
 installation. 3) Install the clamps for the electrical cable. 4) Install the four screws into the CUTOUT switch plate.
 a)  Tighten the four screws.
 (c)  Flap lever detent, cover, and lightplate. 1) Remove the flap lever cover and the lightplate restraint. 2) Put the flap lever cover and the lightplate in the correct
 position for the installation. 3) Install the clamps for the electrical cable. 4) Turn the lightplate to get access to the screw holes for
 the flap lever cover. 5) Install four screws in the flap lever cover. a) Tighten the four screws. 6) Turn the lightplate to the correct position for the installation.
 7)  Install the three screws into the lightplate for the flap lever cover. a) Tighten the three screws.
 8)  Install knob for the horn CUTOUT switch.
 9)  Install the flap 40 unit switches on the sprocket chain guard (AMM 27-51-94/401). a) Make sure that plastic insulator is installed between
 the switch and the cable drum. 10) Do the adjustment for the flap 40 unit switches (AMM 27-51-94/501). 11) Put the flap lever detent in the correct position for the installation.
 12) Install the four screws into the flap lever detent and the flap lever cover. a) Tighten the four screws.
 (d)  Covers and lightplates for the right stabilizer trim lever. 1) Remove the right lever cover and the lightplate restraint. 2) Put the right lever cover and lightplate in the correct
 position for the installation. 3) Install the clamps for the electrical cable. 4) Install the two screws into the right lever cover and the
 lightplate.
 a) Tighten the two screws.

 (e)  Thrust lever covers and seals. 1) Put the two right covers and seals for the thrust levers into the correct position for the installation.
 2)  Install three screws into the two covers and seals. a) Tighten the six screws.
